À Contrevoix
À Contrevoix is a series created by Institut Montaigne where two leading voices dive into today’s biggest societal challenges. Through thoughtful, in-depth conversations, they explore points of agreement and disagreement, untangle dead ends, and open up new ways forward. To make the key insights from these exchanges easy to grasp and share, Institut Montaigne teamed up with Fllow to create a series of clear, compelling, and visually striking infographics.

Context and Challenges
À Contrevoix tackles some of society’s most complex and intertwined issues — from Franco-Algerian relations and assisted dying to proportional voting systems and prison reform. These are challenging questions with no simple yes-or-no answers, as their impact on society runs deep. To offer readers a clear, comprehensive take on these complex issues, Institut Montaigne turned to dialogue. Two voices, with diverging perspectives, explore each topic in depth through a structured interview — revealing every angle of the debate and providing the insights people need to shape their own opinion. To engage a broader audience, Institut Montaigne went beyond articles, bringing the concept to life through videos and infographics. Within this framework, Fllow was called in to tackle a key question: What format, tone, and visual identity would best give shape to these conversations?
Concept and Content
To meet the goals of clarity, education, and engagement, the slideshow emerged as the ideal format — a versatile way to deliver content that is visual, concise, and informative. Each infographic is organized into roughly ten slides and shared as a slideshow across social media. This format perfectly balances accessibility with educational impact, adapting to today’s habits: mobile reading, short attention spans, and the demand for instant clarity. Its slide-by-slide structure makes it possible to present complex ideas while keeping pace with the reader. To create and craft these infographics, Fllow expanded its team. Mathias Ulmann, strategic planner and political writer, took on the task of structuring, refining, and illuminating the insights of À Contrevoix contributors. His approach blends political expertise with a keen sense of phrasing, offering a comprehensive perspective on the dynamics shaping these societal debates.

Illustrations
Collage proved to be the natural choice for illustrating À Contrevoix. This approach captures the complexity, diversity, and richness of the perspectives shared in the dialogues. By juxtaposing and combining varied elements, it mirrors the way these personalities with differing opinions interact and challenge each other. By combining images, typography, and textures, collage visually conveys multiple layers of meaning. It’s the perfect format to complement explanatory infographics, adding context, emotion, and symbolic depth.
